Set Up the DOS Serial Port

(As recommended by Hewlett Packard.)

1) In DOS, before launching Windows:

2) Use a DOS Mode command to set up the serial port for the plotter:

MODE COM1:9600,N,8,1,P

(or the appropriate port instead of COM1). The 'P' switch is very important.

3) Set the plotter up for 9600 baud.

4) Disable the pen sort feature on the plotter configuration dip-switches.
