After opening the starter schedule 'Business Schedule', the Gantt window is the default view. Notice on the screen the task data in columns, and the task bars. We call the left side with task data the 'Spreadsheet pane', and the right side with task bars the 'Time Scale pane'. Notice the gray scroll bars at the very bottom of each pane. Click on the left and right scroll bar arrow buttons in each pane to see how they control the display. Now click on the left-pointing scroll bar arrow to make the spreadsheet and task bars in each pane scroll to their left-most positions. Place the mouse cursor between the two scroll bars (right between the back-to-back arrows in the scroll bars), and notice that the mouse pointer transforms into a horizontal pane divider cursor. When the mouse pointer is in this shape, press and hold the mouse button down and notice that you can drag the window pane divider to the left or to the right, by moving the mouse left or right. Release the mouse button and the pane divider will remain where put. Now drag the pane divider to a location that allows you to display at least two columns in the spreadsheet area.
Actual printed output will look a lot like the currently active window. Adjustments made to spreadsheet column widths and the time scale in the currently active window will influence the format of printed output, as will adjustments to font sizes (unless you are rescaling in the Print form) and colors. Adjusting the location of the pane divider, or scrolling the Spreadsheet or Task Bar Area left or right will not affect the printed output. (There is an exception: setting the pane divider all the way to the right of the screen so that no task bar area at all shows has the same effect as setting the Format Gantt, Time Scale, Data, Display to 'Spreadsheet Only', which entirely eliminates task bars from the Preview and the output.) Zooming the view of the active window (by clicking on either of the magnifying glass buttons) will not affect printed output.
