If your laser printer spits out blank pages, or if the printout is missing text or comes out garbled, check the Format, Global Defaults Form, make sure the Printer Fonts field is selected, and maker sure the right kind of fonts for your particular output device are selected. If plotting to a plotter, select plotter fonts only. If printing to a printer in Windows Version 3.1, choose from the Windows True Type fonts. Or, if you have a font manager program as in ATM, select one of its soft fonts. The printer's internal fonts can also be used (although they may not be scaleable). Do not use the MS Sans Serif or the Helv fonts as they are screen fonts, not printer fonts.
You can set up Windows 3.1 so it will only list True Type fonts to choose from in all of your applications. To do this, get into the Control Panel window, select Fonts, select True Type, then select Show Only True Type Fonts In Applications. Note that this does NOT automatically change the fonts that have already been assigned, it merely controls which fonts are selectable the NEXT time you try to change fonts in Format, Global Defaults, and Format, Fonts and Colors.
